That’s the first well balanced article I read about the Karmapa controversy.
What will Karmapa Thaye Dorje expond in London?
The way of a Boddhisatva?
Ok, just for minutes, let’s think, what would be if we could see the controversy a scenario by the Notu Karmapa to give his students a deep teaching: So to say a crash course.
If the 17th Karmapa think it’s the right time he will reveal himself. Until then the students should consider the controversy as teaching. Maybe all of us should consider Karmapa more as a function.
The first function of Karmapa is beeing a Boddhisatva. He personalises the teachings of Buddhism to help other people to get in touch with the teachings of Buddhism.
This would help them to live, die and reincarnate. To be happier.
I’ve got friends on both sides. They are inspired by Thaye Dorje or Ogyen Trinley. So they both fullfill the function of Karmapa.
I think, I made my personal decision long time ago: there is no need to take sides. No need to play dualistic games.
Karmapa shows that we all are able to go beyond dualism like he does.
